Design Your Own Custom Mala Necklace

Create a one-of-a-kind Mala that is designed especially for you.

If you haven't found exactly what you're looking for in my shop, I'd love to work with you to create a custom Mala that reflects your style, intentions, and preferences. Together we'll choose the gemstones, colors, and finishing details to create a piece that is uniquely yours.

This is more than a custom Mala—it's a collaborative design experience. Whether you know exactly what you want or are just beginning your journey, I'll personally guide you through each step, from selecting your gemstones and choosing colors to approving the final design before I begin hand-knotting your Mala. Together, we'll create a one-of-a-kind Mala that is uniquely yours.

Here's How the Process Works

**Choose Your Gemstones**
Select the gemstones you'd like to include in your Mala. If you're unsure where to begin, I'm happy to help explain the traditional meanings of different stones and suggest beautiful color combinations.

If there is a gemstone you'd like that I don't currently have in stock, I will gladly check on availability and, when possible, special order it for your design.

**Design Your Mala**
Once we've selected your gemstones, I will create several design layouts for you to review. We'll work together to adjust the arrangement, add or remove beads, and refine every detail until you're completely happy with the design.

**Choose Your Guru Bead**
After the overall design is finalized, you'll select the Guru bead that completes your Mala.

**Select Your Knotting Cord**
I'll send photos of your completed bead design along with several knotting cord color options that I feel complement your Mala beautifully. You simply choose your favorite.

**Choose Your Finishing Touch**
Complete your Mala with either a pendant or a handmade tassel.

If you choose a tassel, you'll have a variety of options, including:

* Silk Thread
* Recycled Sari Silk
* Leather
* Natural Linen

I offer many beautiful colors and will send photos of the available choices.

If you prefer a pendant, I'll send photos of the pendants I currently have in stock so you can choose the perfect finishing touch.

**Optional Charm**
You may also choose to add a charm to your tassel or to the back of your Mala for an extra personal touch.

Special Orders

If your custom design requires gemstones that I need to special order, I'll first confirm that they're available.

Occasionally, certain gemstones are significantly more expensive than those I normally use. If your selections increase the cost of the Mala, I'll discuss the additional cost with you before moving forward. There will never be any surprise charges.

If I'm unable to obtain a requested gemstone and you prefer not to substitute another stone, I will gladly issue a full refund.

Production Time

Custom Malas typically take **2–3 weeks** to complete.

The exact timeline depends on:

* Whether special-order gemstones are needed
* My current order schedule
* How quickly we finalize your design

Creating a custom Mala involves thoughtful collaboration, multiple design layouts, photographs, and ongoing communication to ensure every detail is exactly as you envision.

Final Approval

Once you purchase this listing, I'll contact you so we can begin designing your custom Mala.

Before I begin hand-knotting your necklace, you'll receive photos of the final design for your approval. Once you approve the design and knotting has begun, I cannot offer refunds unless I have made an error in creating your Mala.

Custom and personalized orders

I’m happy to customize any item in my shop. I also offer a dedicated Custom Mala listing. If you’d like to make small changes to a Mala already in my shop, simply send me a message or leave your request in the customization box at checkout. Together, we can create a Mala that feels truly yours.

Because custom and personalized orders are created just for you, they are non-refundable. That said, if I’ve made a mistake or if something isn’t right due to workmanship, I will happily correct it or provide a refund.

Sizing details

My Malas are available in two sizes: 8mm and 6mm. If you like a lighter or more petite style, the 6mm is a great choice. Each listing shows the Mala on a mannequin and a model so you can get a clear idea of how it looks. If you need guidance, just send me a note—I’m happy to help.

Care instructions

With every Mala you purchase, I include a care guide that explains how to use your Mala and how to properly store and care for your beads.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I offer gift wrapping for all purchases. Every Mala and bracelet comes packaged in a burlap Mala bag, perfect for gift giving.

Wholesale availability

While I don’t currently offer wholesale, I’m glad to extend a discount for bulk or large-quantity orders. Message me anytime to chat about options.

Tassel Customization

The regular tassel length is about 4", and I’m happy to customize it for you. Whether you prefer it shorter, longer, fuller, or more delicate—and even if you’d like a different wrap cord color—just let me know. You can leave your request in the customization box or message me anytime.

Processing Times

Most orders are processed in 3–5 days, and I usually ship sooner when I’m able. During holidays or especially busy times, processing may increase slightly. If you’re in a hurry, I offer Priority and Express shipping, and you can always message me to see if I can make your order a bit faster for a special occasion. I’m happy to help when I can.
